An NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) provides proof of skills knowledge and competence in a particular occupation. NVQs can be achieved at different levels and in a wide variety of occupations.
As an NVQ assessor, you will observe candidates performing key tasks and assess their capabilities against a set of performance standards. You will also provide advice, guidance, motivation and training where required to meet gaps in skills and knowledge.
You should have at least two years experience and competent skills in your current occupation. You will also need to be a good communicator, well organised and have a genuine desire to help other people.
Once qualified and experienced as an NVQ assessor, you can go to become an Internal Verifier or even a qualified teacher.
Training programmes are available through educational staffing client companies.
